Shift Leader (Irregular Hours)
For our production location in Venlo, we are looking for an experienced Shift Leader who can maintain oversight, bring structure to a dynamic environment, and provide direction and motivation to the team. The Bag Packaging Department operates continuously - day and night - and is a crucial link in delivering high-quality fresh products. You ensure the process keeps running smoothly, even when pressure increases.
who are you
- You have at least MBO level 4 working and thinking capacity (equivalent vocational education level)
- You have proven experience in a production or logistics environment
- You know how to motivate and manage employees effectively
- You maintain oversight, even under high work pressure
- You communicate clearly in Dutch and/or English
- You are technically skilled and work efficiently with systems
- You are results-driven and have a strong focus on safety and team development
- You work 5 out of 7 days per week and are flexible to work day and night shifts:
- Day shift: from 6:00 AM until production stops (no later than 4:30 PM)
- Night shift: from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM
- Between the day and night shifts, an external cleaning team cleans all machines, during which you are not working
what are you going to do
As a Shift Leader, you will be responsible for managing a team of 75 to 100 employees in a rotating shift system with day and night shifts. You monitor the progress of the production process and make adjustments where necessary to achieve the set targets in quality, yield, and safety. You also ensure compliance with company regulations, food safety standards, and procedures related to hygiene, order, and cleanliness.
You organize team meetings, conduct performance reviews, and provide management information to the Operations Manager. In unexpected situations, you act quickly and thoughtfully. You develop and implement working methods that contribute to continuous improvement and cost control.
In addition, as a Shift Leader, you are the main point of contact for your team, facilitate a positive and safe working atmosphere, and actively contribute to projects that support the department’s development. As a first aid/emergency response officer (BHV), you also play an important role in ensuring workplace safety. Your leadership is essential in maintaining stable production and motivating the team to perform at their best every day.

what do we offer you
- A gross salary between €3,284 and €4,000 per month, depending on experience, paid every 4 weeks
- Shift allowances: 40% extra for night shifts and 100% extra on Sundays (in accordance with the collective labor agreement / CAO)
